I still can’t get over that the UK arrests people over social media posts. Is the US the only place on the planet that actually has free speech?

This post in particular helped me fix seo as well for https://appraisalinbox.com (the design still needs a lot of love). These days I'd probably start off using astro for a static site. They've got a docs starter, too.

Despite not liking JavaScript as a language nor the Node runtime, learning about hybrid static and SSR apps with Astro.js - I have to say, I’m impressed so far. Seems like a sweet spot for certain types of sites.

Great post - the comparison to specific tech was really useful. Just added it to my "Postgres Is Enough" gist: https://gist.github.com/cpursley/c8fb81fe8a7e5df038158bdfe0f...

Please don't turn hn into reddit with the political cheap-shots ruining every thread. The situation is much more complex than red vs. blue and insta-divisiveness won't help us resolve them.

Woah, this is neat - insane that it can handle extensions. Just added a new section to my "Postgres Is Enough" gist: https://gist.github.com/cpursley/c8fb81fe8a7e5df038158bdfe0f...

Most mature web frameworks (ie, not Janky JavaScript stacks) handle this either out of the box or by pulling in a popular community library. The benefits are no separate service to run and operate and the user model being directly tied to t

I haven't used LLMs but am using a hybrid approach with pg_vector: https://github.com/agoodway/vecto (some useful links in the README). One way that comes to mind is using LLMs is to re-write the query before shov
