The docs are soooo good. Page speed and SEO scores for astro sites are off the charts. And Bolt.new and Cursor do really well with it.

As much as I love Ruby and Rails (and Elixir even more so), the IDE type checking of Typescript combined with LLMs is insanely productive. So I tend to agree, despite very much disliking node/JS and it's ecosystem. I've never

How would y’all go about building analytics into a professional marketplace type of app where you can provide the professional with their own profile page stats (in a reliable way)?

This is really disappointing and something I've thought about for years. One of my first website ideas was a platform to help connect communities with the local farmers. I've sat on a domain for years that I thought was really fun

Yep, df gonna run this rando script with such a detailed and inspiring README... (in all seriousness folks, if you're gonna show HN, spend some time on your README, docs, etc).

That’s only because they weren’t well connected (by design?) to the community vs how say the Soviets implemented theirs (one of the things they actually got right, despite the brutal aesthetics). Similar story for the US “projects” - comple

I understand the math, cows aren't the problem.

I did the math, others seemed not to. Cow farts are insignificant, period.

Make no mistake, these hypocritical do-gooder authoritarians will still be flying first class and eating steak while they force us proletariats to eat bugs and soy sloop.

This is a strange companion, NZ has like 6 people and their main focus is agriculture. Anyways, I bet their volcanos put out an order of magnitude more.

Because that's exactly what reducing farming output does.

Yeah, fertilizer getting into the watershed is a real problem. It wreaks entire ecosystems.

My point is people should do the math and come to their own reasonable conclusion. Assuming these numbers aren't totally bullshit (see what I did there) this won't move the needle unless we cut out cow consumption 100% and cull al

I was just reusing the term op used. And that’s a tiny percentage if the trade off is keeping humans fed.

And how much of a dent would reducing cow consumption by 25% make?

Feeding people is a sacred task. Food is literally the base pillar of various human needs pyramids.

It’s the same in America, there’s actually more trees now than at the time of European settlement. A combo of the large buffalo herds that used to roam and native land management that often involved burning entire forests.

Tree planting in eroded/damaged ecosystems requires a helping hand - everything from site prep, germination, watering, etc. Source: I’ve planted thousands of trees.

How do we keep people fed after shutting down farming (at a reasonable cost)? The entire thing seems anti-human…

Now that’s a real problem, farm animal excrement is an issue. Seems like one that technology can solve?

Bingo. And these type of hn posts always bring out the bigots: I generally flag them unless tech related. Some people here can’t talk about any Russian/USSR topic with going full-blown Russophobia. There's other places for that li
