This would happen war or not. Btw, they sell the same off-the-shelf drone components to Ukraine and anyone else willing to pay for them.

Related: https://www.pgflow.dev It's built on pgmq and not married to supabase (nearly everything is in the database). Postgres is enough.

Yep, it’s the golden age of guitar quality. These days even a starter guitar is pretty darn good. Ditto for amp emulators and small tube amps, wish that was all around as a teen.

Meh, most Google AI products look great on paper but fail in actual real scenarios. And that ranges from their Claude Code clone to their buggy storybook thing which I really wanted to like.

A large portion of the US economy is based on this entire grift pipeline (settling before getting to court). And it's very costly and pushes up insurance costs and costs in general for everyone else.

I love these "we invented erlang/elixir!" hn posts (1/3 of them?). (snark aside, that syntax actually looks pretty nice).

Jellyfish blooms actually are an ecological issue in some places. They thrive under certain conditions and wreck fish populations.

If your needs are really simple, check out bugsink.com which is sentry compatible. I swapped out few weeks ago and so far, so good.

Is it deeper than render.com? Can heroku run static sites or distributed Elixir/Erlang? Personally I’m on fly as the pricing is even better and I prefer the UX, but render is basically what heroku should be in 2025.

Thanks, Derek - Postgres is enough! Your article years ago really put on the “use the database” path - that post is the first in this gist: https://gist.github.com/cpursley/c8fb81fe8a7e5df038158bdfe0f...

Render (because it's on k8s) and Fly handle distributed erlang out of the box, so I don't have to think much about it. Heroku does not.

You can actually use Codex right from Claude Code as an MCP without that proxy stuff and it works really well, especially for review or solving things Claude couldn't. Best of both worlds!

Perhaps I’m reaching, but why not just run outside? Cold? What’s a gym cost where you are? $40 just seems like a lot in addition to the amortized cost of the basement clothes rack, I meant exercise machine.

For web, Elixir Phoenix LiveView: https://www.phoenixframework.org/blog/phoenix-liveview-1.0-r... For platforms, just go native - it's easier than ever with LLM assistance.

So how is that a disaster? Wasn't one of the big concerns a decade or go about over population? This means less agriculture required, more land for nature, less pollution, fewer energy needs, etc.

You seem obsessed with the “China population collapse” propaganda (which is put out by the usual suspects, btw). Anyways, I hate to break it to you, but this is also the trend throughout the entire Western world. Besides, automation and AI
