Only partially... what's available at least prevents leaking the context unexpectedly to other goroutines (due to thread re-use), however anything that spins up a new goroutine from the locked goroutine will end up in a new thread in a

Because container tech is often per-thread which you have no control over in Go. There is runtime.LockOSThread(), but then if something happens to spin up a new groutine from there it will be done on a new os thread and not running in the c

Would love to change this default but doing so will end up breaking Kubernetes users at the very least Maybe we could change the default based on api version.

Modularization improves maintenance overhead, it does not reduce privilege.

Amen. There is a heap of mess from the land-grab war. We are all on the same team, just want to make this stuff better, but people still seem intent on fighting.

Docker's runtime is long spun out into containerd (though there is more work to do here). Builder is in buildkit, which sits on top of containerd. Would be nice to decouple networking, this will take some work. Docker is more and more

I don't think it's fair to call the Mac Pro price ludicrous (ok the stand is a bit much). The components literally cost that much and it is geared towards a particular audience (e.g. Pixar).

The issue is prison is about "doing time". If someone doesn't want to "get better" then that is the thing you treat. I didn't watch the video mostly because I don't know what it contains and I have kids ar

We are saying essentially the same thing, just that what's there isn't all bad, just not good enough and ignores a group of people because we've decided that we don't like people who are on drugs.

The issue is the criminal justice system will just throw them behind bars and do nothing else. Prison is basically "We don't know what else to do with you so we'll throw you in here and hope you get better by the time you com

The support is great, as I understand it anyway, unless you are addicted to drugs. The places for the homeless to go to do not accept people with drugs, which seems reasonable but then you create this situation with lots of addicts on the s

Yes, and it is mostly up to the maintainer of the image on how to handle tags. Typically minor patch releases are not kept around once the new patch is out. May be worth filing an issue if this is problematic?

An exception interrupts the entire flow of the program. In go if something is truly exceptional then you can panic, but most of the time an error is non-fatal outside of a particular request (request not just related to a web request). I

This is not simple in any way. cgo is convenient for being able to use "lib*" packages, but calling these packages is not free, and certainly writing cgo for performance reasons is not likely to be a gain. Go is plenty fast for mo

WSL 2 is a full Linux kernel running in Hyper-V rather than an emulation layer on top of NT. The article is about two things: 1. WSL 1 was not enough to run docker on it 2. WSL 2 is what was needed and with it Docker can use it and replace
