I do not agree that the architecture makes it difficult to do . The main issue is you have to start the daemon. Systemd can at least manage this for you as an unprivileged user. That said, certainly a no-daemon approach takes an extra step

Docker has a rootless mode in the same way that podman has a rootless mode.

A built (as in `docker build && docker run`) image does not have a digest because the digests are for the tar+gzipped versions of the layers (+ the image config and manifest). The layers are not tar+gzipped until you attempt to push

I will add, once the image is on disk indeed the integrity is not verified so it can be modified after pull either maliciously or by accident. Once pulled, the content addressed layers are extracted into the storage driver (overlay, btrfs,

That's because the parent comment is completely wrong. Images have a reference (e.g. "ubuntu:20.04"), they have an ID inside docker (random string), and they have a digest. All image data is stored by digest. Even when you fe

Podman doesn't do what docker desktop does. They are not the same thing at all.

When I was younger I would get road hypnosis, particularly at night. Don't even have to be tired, just start "zoning out" completely despite doing things to combat that (roll down windows for fresh air in my face and blast mu

We seem to be forgetting something here: the aerosols we are protecting from are from other peoples nose and mouth, which are covered by a cloth mask which vastly reduces how much makes it into the air. There is no "best" here, mi

I was pretty stubborn at first, but honestly 7 has a lot of nice features, especially for families. You can also continue to use your old vault, though the announcement here seems kind of vague if this will continue to be true.

Not tied to Apple. I don't think Keychain (up to but not including iOS 15 beta) supports OTP. On macOS, not much other than Safari seems to use it, I think?

Maybe ask yourself "Why?". It is a much more fun, not suit and tie kind of announcement. This is also a consumer product, not enterprise.

All I know is my 6 year old daughter was able to login to my admin account because of Windows Hello on multiple occasions. There is certainly some resemblance, particularly what I looked like when I was 6, but not a huge one.

Your lived experience is not anything like any other human on this planet. I would not presume to know what other people experience or discount their perception of, particularly of themselves and what makes them feel good or feel bad.

Even though there is still a wire, that wire can be plugged in where it is, and not wrapped around a room.

There is nothing about a sound bar that says you can't add surrounds. Granted many of the lower end sound bars are not going to have this option, but then that's low end.

Also have to factor that Amazon's customer service is fantastic . That's the hidden cost in using something else: How is their customer service? How much hassle are they going to give me to return an item? How much does it cost m

Did you swipe left to right or right to ledt? Should be right to left to get to the "App Library" which has a search bar. I guess you'll need to be on the last home screen... I only have 1 since this feature was introduced.
