Can they navigate turns, or are they just being conditioned to run in a straight line for sugar? Interesting exploration though.

Crabs/Lobsters don't have a singular central nervous system like humans, they actually have multiple "brains" spread throughout their bodies.

How about all the creatures that are killed by harvesting machines when wheat, corn, or soy is being harvested... I imagine probably the number of small creatures that are destroyed are probably on par with the number of crustacea harvested

QR codes are bad for security as they are opaque. How hard would it be for an attacker to replace a dining menu with their own link to a trojan?

Because without going through the standards process it is a unilateral de-facto standard that has been pushed on the web without community involvement.

Ask HN: Is there a process manager with a permissions model similar to Deno?

Thank God AMP is dying... If you are looking to develop a specification for preloading go through the browser standards process, instead of unloading this proprietary crap on the rest of us.

It also means your configuration must be transpiled into JS first before execution unless run through a typescript runtime interpreter.

Very true... How can I debug this thing when it breaks that's a great question. I wonder how sourcemaps work with svelte

perhaps you are right about DOM but isn't HTML/XML just a way of representing an object tree... I don't see anything inherently wrong with this?

100% no more js frankensteins... Id prefer to learn a new language altogether

haha fair enough! But I think, I'd rather learn an entirely new technology or language instead of every year having to learn a JS Frankenstein language! I kind of regret posting my OP now... as its turned into a bit of a flame war. It

fair criticism I wonder how svelte optimizes for rerendering of long component lists. React uses keys to avoid rerendering the entire list.

I never asked anyone not to use svelte... I said why should I be compelled to learn this new language, other than it being the hot new UI framework of the day. It doesn't have a virtual DOM? It doesn't have synthetic events? Ok wh

I know... This comment had no context... You don't have to even import React from 'react'; anymore

I agree 100%... Adding JSX to the language spec would be interesting. It might be too heavy to include within the language spec as many JS applications do not involve the DOM at all, so then you have to essentially bundle DOM functions in

I'm tired of having to learn yet another templating language without a very compelling reason. Why do I have to learn, what is essentially, a new programming language for each of these frameworks (Angular, Svelte, Vue, React... Do I re

this article seems way too political and not technical enough for hacker news, and IMO it should be flagged... I welcome an article that dives into the scientific debate on the efficacy of dog testing or animal testing more broadly. This, h
