Why in G-d's name are you people hemorraging about who or where the source came from? As great a man as he was, this doesn't warrant coniption fits about who knew what first. You're acting like he held national secrets that upon his death w

Well done! But after viewing the Chicago events it made me realize how old and out-of-touch I am (I have two little kids at home). I think I recognized 4-5 bands out of 100 in Chicago! Maybe I need to take my wife out more! If I were single

Great explanation--the light bulb finally went on for me regarding node.js. Regarding the other framework event models (esp. EventMachine), is it beneficial or wise to use node for the I/O intensive stuff and another framework (e.g. rails)

Would it be accurate to say that the cult-like atmosphere was intentionally created to dissuade people from unethical behavior in a field that is rife for that sort of behavior? I.e. if you can control people in a field that is overflowing

Since when does industry revenue dictate "high culture?" By this measure, reality TV shows would be the highest art form in the US. Fortunately, people still value "real" high art in the form of opera, symphony orchestras, theater, etc. If

In my case, I have an BA in Biology and MS in Env. Science/Biology and that led me into software for that discipline (GIS). So, for the past 10+ years I've been a software developer but with specialized environmental knowledge.

I think the point is to reduce the app download size by using the built-in MacRuby already installed. Chances are, when you ship your application, it's several times larger because you have to bundle the Ruby runtime.

Betty Jennings Bartik is my great aunt and she's a fount of knowledge. I love hearing stories from her about her days as a "computer." I'm glad to see that someone took the time to research the contributions of these fine women.
