Huh, that's odd. I haven't had any of those issues. In fact, apart from a few difficulties with NPM (which were NPM issues, not Windows issues), I've never had any issues with Windows 10. I admit to missing SSH, and a nice te

I can't even say how happy it made me that Clippy made it into a CLI program. Is that a common joke I've just missed elsewhere?

I live (and grew up in) in Central New York (as in: middle of Upstate New York). We've had "coydogs" as long as I remember. I sort of assumed it was a myth, in fact I remember being told it was a myth and that they were just

You'll notice they explicitly don't cover regulations (like the one they were writing), probably because of the amount of legal precedent for nitpicking the exact phraseology of a given law or regulation...

College kids will also typically spend a grand total of 12 hours in class in college (assuming 4 classes, each of which has three hours of in-class time). Expecting a college student to then put in another 12-20 hours of personal work makes

The report also doesn't state how it's detecting human DNA. I was under the impression that tests like these are reasonably unreliable, especially when dealing with big mixes of genetic materials...I can't say this with any a

Yes, this is tongue in cheek. I never liked the domestic terminology, though. Craft beers are domestic. They're also owned by people in their country of origin. The joke about bud is that it's primarily owned by foreign corporatio

Let's use the right terms: Domestics are brewed here, meaning must craft beers available in your country of origin are domestic. Technically Anheuser is a Belgian company... So I'd say bud is an import...

Batten disease. I don't mind the question, it's been 6 years now, but thanks to my "defenders" ;) Also, my family doesn't suffer from it. It is autosomal recessive, so only the unfortunate 1/4 have any symptoms

I don't think the genetic manipulation in the near future is going to be powerful enough to create the situation you describe. If only because of the legal structure we've set up around it, but also because right now out capacitie

Hey there. My comment came off emotional; I'm not sorry for that, but I think my stance came across weakly. I'm not saying there aren't very real issues that need to be addressed with manipulating human genetics. I've se

Great point. I group VTI, VTSAX, and VTSMX all together in my head; with Vanguard the differences between Vanguard branded ETFs and MFs aren't really that noticeable if you're just buying and holding. Thanks for clarifying my sugg

Vanguard's VTSAX is an ETF that buys the whole Stock market (more or less, at least a representative portion). By definition that includes smaller high risk companies.

Although it is a resume, it's also in a different medium than the resume 'rules' apply to. So I'd argue it's ok to break some of the typical rules.
