Similar situation here. I don’t know about your locale/CoL but to me you seem to have your priorities right, i.e. family before career. Keep up the good work!

FWIW, the best way is probably to travel by other means, e.g.. train or bus. With that said: I do realise that some locations are hard to reach without air travel. It can be quite tricky to find serious organisations to donate to for the pu

I second this. IRCCloud’s UI is very nice.

Did you try Software Engineering Stack Exchange? Might be worth a try. https://softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/

Haven’t experienced it, but I’m not surprised. Stuff like this is why I don’t take reviews on Google Maps that seriously.

Depends on your needs and preferences. If you go with Pinboard you gain tags and full-text search (even for PDFs). And you can access your bookmarks from any device. Definitely worth it, IMHO.

IMHO, it’s Pinboard + the “Pins” app. Why I like it: It’s simple. Doesn’t do too much. And Pinbord can archive every page you bookmark, plus full-text search. Even better than Delicious, that I used before switching over.

I’m quite sure Servicenow or Okta can do this. But there are probably cheaper options out there.

I mostly go by a) recommendations from people I trust b) reviews (that I mostly find in the dailies). Also, if you focus on classics I think you’ll be fine. I.e. Hemingway, Kafka, Dickens et al. Classics can have their flaws too, but I thin

I don’t know much about AI, but I’ve thought a lot about career guidance and mentorship. My best advice: Try to start a virtual community within the specific area/sub-area that you’re interested in. (AI/ML/LLMs if I understoo

It’s not a trivial problem to solve. See Zooko’s triangle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zooko%27s_triangle and https://web.archive.org/web/20011020191610/http://zooko.com/...

I don’t use it, but I’m certain it has a quite large user base. Even if they would have only 1% of all developers world-wide (for example), that’s still a lot of users.

Laurie Anderson did a VR installation where you fly to the moon. It was quite nice, I like her voice and way of narrating. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/style/article/laurie-anderson-moon-v...

What do you mean by GNU here? The bug is in the Linux kernel, specifically in the code for the ext4 filesystem. There are not many systems out there who runs a GNU kernel.

Start a new project in Go and then work on that for at least twenty minutes every day. Repeat for at least sixty days. I don’t believe there’s any quicker way to learn.
