Yeah but do you really need a separate copy of numpy/matplotlib/scipy/etc. for every single project? I don't have infinite disk space...

Plenty of python packages depend on various system packages outside of PyPI anyway.

I wish there was an easy way for pip to list what it's missing so it's easier to install dependencies via the system package manager. Also it's sad how setup tools bdist_rpm seems to be considered deprecated.

Yeah, so far CKX is the airport I can find with the most hops to Anchorage (4, but 3 to Fairbanks which is also fairly well connected). YGZ is likewise 4 hops to Ottawa, and I can't find anything higher in Canada (there are a few that

Yeah, due to thw Fly America Act, I (usually) have to book through a US carrier even if it's a code share for work travel and run into this problem often...

I don't think it's a red flag, but I do think it's odd. Why should the user care what language it's implemented in? (For libraries and such, such a naming convention makes sense, of course).

C man pages are great because you don't need internet access or to when leave your terminal. Just open up a tmux pane next to your vim ... If I have to switch to my web browser there's a reasonable chance I get distracted.

Some states seem to not require front plates which makes it extra annoying. Especially if I'm bad at identifying vehicle models (I basically only use Uber/Lyft when I travel for work to get to my hotel in cities with shitty or non

You still want a bootloader to support firmware updates, typically in the first 8 kB of flash or something like that.

Part of a distros job is to audit all the packages (even if just to a minimal extent), and in many cases patch for various reasons. This is much harder if the source is external and there are N copies of everything.

Not sure why you'd compare modern C++ to K&R which is a C book. Modern C is in fact less ugly than ancient C due to sugar like compound literals.

I don't understand this argument...C is a very simple language. Does the proverbial rust programmer who doesn't know C even exist?
