Go with wordpress, even going with wordpress.com would be a good idea just pay the cheap fee to host your domain there (and maybe pay for ad-free total would be $40/year).

It is ridiculous to me that people view public web pages as something that shouldn't be archived, if anything it provides illuminating snapshots to the state of the web at certain dates. The archive.org team does follow robots.txt and I bel

They are kind of different beasts. Linode can spin servers up and down rather quickly and you can deploy different OS's all through the online menu. Prgmr you buy a machine send an ssh key they set it up and send you the bill. Then you get

For those interested in this they might also check out underscores theme by Automattic[1]. Bones is an okay starter but if feels like a more thrown together bundling of the latest and greatest of the web development trends (320andup, sass/l

I was gonna make a similar comment. All the themes I see are geared to be anti comment because of the lack of distinction in colors. Right now I use the Tomorrow Night theme which seems to be okay but I would prefer to have a good light col

The iphone doesn't zoom like the android browser and makes hacker news more difficult to use in portrait mode. (Tiny text and tiny buttons)

Using a good registrar is key but you also want to separate host from registrar because you want to keep your content. It is a much more common case to change hosts than it is to change registrars. But even if you lose your domain name some

Scraping content isn't bad if you aren't redistributing it, technically your web browser is scraping content in the same sense. http://paulgraham.com/robots.txt doesn't disallow robots from reading the essays.

Well I don't think people spend enough time on the toilet to justify an extra cost (save maybe IBS and toilet readers/surfers). And right now toilets are fully functional for most people, mine aren't uncomfortable to me and are easy to clea

Fonts that are not native always seem to have issues for me on Windows if they are not big enough. The best option is usually to use a native font like Calibri or some of the many other fonts that windows comes with or increase the size of

If you don't have something like a lock code it is pointless because then you have nothing to lock the encryption with. The iphone works with its lock code.

I pay the monthly fee for my dsl modem because it comes with insurance and if the box breaks, which they seem to do, I don't eat the $100 dollar or more fee for a new one, the phone company ships one. Now it really depends on how it is done

I'll give you feedback since you ask. - Up the font size on your blog, I can't read it without zooming in considerably. - Try to actually explain, giving examples help, what the different security parts do rather than quickly explaining, th

This is actually a good reason to avoid styling id's as they take precedence over classes in styling. See: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/fecup

For disk encryption and keepass databases I like to go with full sentence but odd passphrases. Like: Cats and cows eat 200 tables a day. The grape is 14 shades of orange.

I don't even know how you can justify the "only detrimental to poor kids." It is far more an effect of the parents and household than it is economics of the house. And that of the school hours is kind of wrong when you reach high school bec

No topic downvote only comment downvote (which I think is around 500). Closest you get is flag which happens at around 20 karma and reduces the staying power of a post.
