Changing The Captain would be like Jim Henson changing Kermit the Frog. No, no, no.

That's what I use -- the Speed Editor with the "Cut Page."

AFAIAC "nodes" are a feature of Resolve, not a bug.

The "Cut Page" has been a godsend for me. I'm going through about 1500 hours of footage right now and that editing mode is the only thing that has made my task even remotely possible for me to pull off.

I bebop back and forth between Blender and Resolve and, yes, Blender has made some great improvements but I STILL have sound sync issues on 3.3. Otherwise, Blender is pretty good - but I prefer Resolve overall. One thing that Blender has

I've seen quite the opposite. A good percentage of people coming from Premiere or After Effects feel burnt for all the years they spent in the Adobe suite. Just in stability alone is Resolve leagues better. The "batteries included

I've typed this before but I'll type it again here. About 10 years ago I ran the local Python Meetup group here in Phoenix. Intel had/has a big presence here and one of they guys who worked on the Atom team (doing compiler op

As soon as people own any modern EV most of these problems prove to be overblown and, in fact, are not even true.

Most of these compose files are pretty outdated AND they depend on non-standard builds of containers for each respective application.

Not really. There are (and always will be) people who see no good in the Internet. I played a small part in its growth in the early 90s and even I have pangs of regret over what it has become. AND there was a lot of grift and lawlessness in

I was just there for the first time in two years. Based on all the comments here on HN, I expected to walk through a hell-scape. After spending a week, mostly on foot in the city... a lot of this talk seems overblown.

The PWA for Zoom when I tried it on my Chromebook was horrible, FWIW.

I have not been following PWAs that closely but I do recall when Zoom starting using them for ChromeOS last year -- horrible stuff.

After getting access to the beta, combined with all these HN posts -- I've determined DallE2 is neat but no where as great as the initial samples made me believe.

I remember going to a convention in 2005 for retail store software and I was amazed that Delphi dominated as the platform for POS systems.

Years ago Google announced that Phoenix would be a market for Fiber but then (like Google does) bailed. As soon as Google announced, CenturyLink and Cox both put the gas on their fiber rollout here in the PHX metro area. When Google finally

I'll wait to read it when it actually comes up but until then I have to say when I finally got access to the DallE2 beta, I was underwhelmed. The mini-Dalle, while not as good in the image fidelity department, is much more fun.

Linux succeeded because of these reasons: 1) Over time it changed and morphed to include every feature people wanted. It started as a 386, single core kernel whereas now it supports every processor and 1000s of cores. 2) Linux always had th

The only reason I give people like you a pass on hating on Blade Runner is I, personally, can't stand The Matrix -- which has made me a pariah with my peer group for over 20 years now.

I love Blender but NLE functionality still isn't there yet. Basic things like keeping audio in sync with video breaks all the time. I had to switch to Resolve for my little projects. I will continue to evaluate Blender, but for now it

The little ISP I started back in '93 used the Mix DB for our accounting system. We wrote a Perl lib for it (that was turned it into a client/server type architecture.) It was GREAT.
