Thank you for clarifying that. After my Kodi 19 broke, I went searching for some discussion on the plugins I use. Pretty much every discussion I saw where the dev of the broken plugin acknowledged the transition did so during last summer. N

Check the Kodi wiki for the plugins you use. Chances are most don't work in the new version and you'll be left with everything you're used to broken.

We use Emby Server to maintain watch status sync and various not-Kodi-friendly devices in our house. The TVs use Emby through Kodi because of Kodi's superior interface and processing. Kodi 19/Matrix broke that, however, so now we&

I've gotta say, this was the most irresponsible Kodi release yet. It's never been fun to upgrade Kodi (something inevitably breaks), but this is by far the worst upgrade of all. And now to find out that the automatically update

Many people have Android TV on their TVs, or boxes like Nvidia Shield. While a Raspberry Pi is a pretty simple way to get Linux/Kodi on the TV, getting it to integrate well is a whole other story. (Remotes, CEC, other services like N

TDD is definitely helpful, but I don't ever use it as a metric for code fitness. At best it proves a limited number of inputs produce a limited number of expected outputs. Consider, for example, a bug recently introduced during a refac

Parent is talking about percentiles, not averages. But on the point of averages: the median human has two breasts and no testicles.

I can say with unscientific specificity that for 6 months following the start of COVID, I was buried in media on both sides of the spectrum and researched as much as I could. Right wing media was largely... not "wrong", I guess? B

Perhaps—and I respect your acknowledgment of the problem—but that is a false dichotomy. A tremendous amount of opposition news was false and also propaganda, so perhaps you're just picking sides. But I'm of the opinion that th

Thank you for your reply and reasoned downvote. Not exactly martyrdom, though. I've posted enough "Trump was demonstrably not wrong in this context" comments that have been downvoted into oblivion that my account has negative

There was (and is), but you're not going to find many that agree on here. (Even in the comment section of a supporting data point.) People who dislike Trump (the majority of HN readers) are strongly biased to react negatively at the ve

All this presupposes race is the dominant factor. Sure, it is almost certainly a present trait , but it's rather relevant to identify it as a causative factor. If profiling blacks is an inappropriate means to discern likelihood of cri

The Actix unsafe code has long since been resolved. There are very few instances of it, and each are small, specific, easy to reason about, and wholly internal. I'd guess the risk is about on par with—or safer than—VM runtime languages
