Also when people hear "cast" they think "cast iron" or cheap appliance broken piece (mostly zinc). They're brittle because of material choice, not because of casting. (Though casting does influence the choice of mat

But you can't fit that "sea" into a processor core as a separate unit powered by unique instructions (like an FPU or ALU) because the speed demands the cache and ALU be there (or else it can't run at 3GHz any more). Once

> Doing this raises the labor cost to the point of making it uneconomical in many cases that it wouldn't be otherwise. You're arguing against the specialization of labor. I don't think this is a winning argument.

No, and they rough cut fast closer to 6/4 (1.5") than the original 8/4 (2") they may have originally used, because we don't care about the quality as much. Part of that is the wood isn't as good. Part is our ma

Treated sewage is used for fertilizing crops. They line "compostable" goods (straws, plates) with PFAS and it goes into municipal compost. And where does that go? For a long time we lived mostly avoiding the consequences of our po

We've done the opposite for decades. We've lowered the bar every year and the quality of k-12 education has dropped significantly. Perhaps now that Lucy Calkins is fully exposed as a fraud, reading can get better? https:/&#x

No, I lived this. I want to live where I can bicycle entirely (and mostly did, because transit is often dirty). I'm working toward spending a few years in Japan and later the Netherlands. But only because we can't have nice things

Be willing to enforce civility in public. In Japan 7-year-old kids can ride the subway; here we have junkies burning fentanyl, vagrants with pitbulls, and "showtime". Gee, why wouldn't I want public transit to be an inseparab

Employee total burden is about double their take-home pay, so 2 x $100 x 8 x 12 is $19200.

From trading the other comments, it seems the Onewheel is just glitchy. They certainly must also have a low-battery cutoff, but I bet it's not accurate in all ranges of temperature and with aged batteries.

If the USA's airbases are all bombed there's nothing going to be left on the planet. It's not a credible scenario. There may be other reasons, but this is a dumb one.

If anyone's confused about 10x in the GP post and 2-3x in this one, a given size boat with a displacement hull might have a hull speed of 6 kts and with a planing hull a hull speed of 5 kts. At 2 kts, they'd both probably be in di
