Just don't use pip, use apt. What isn't packaged isn't worth it anyways. Non-distro package managers, a dozen per language are a disease.

Well, you could just use the first few primes multiplied together as a base. 2 * 3 gives you base6, 2 * 3 * 5 gives you base30. Neither commonly used system does that, base12 uses 2 twice, base10 skips 3. So from a divisibility PoV both are

Linux distribution package managers work like this. Updates can run in the background, processes pick up new libraries whenever they are restarted, but updates can happen before that during normal operation mostly without any disturbance (t

Well, you separate the spent fuel into chemical components by suitable chemical processes. One of those components is plutonium salts. So, yes, reprocessing is a rather direct way to nuke materials.

Fukushima were BWRs, and older and far shittier than the PWR in TMI. TMI is how such an accident "should" look like. And of course there are improvements on that in newer generations.

Core catchers do need emergency cooling working. Also, Fukushima had far more basic failures in far simpler safety features being lacking or absent. No pressure-resistant containment to speak of. No hydrogen recombinators. No passive emerge

Similar to how we "know" how many people a low-level nuclear release killed: You know how much of a high dose of some carcinogen it takes for a certain cancer or death risk. You scale this down linearly to low doses. Then you esti

I fear Germany will never build another nuclear power plant again. The anti-nuclear propaganda has become a religion now, any argument about safety is ignored mumbling the mantra "but they said Chernobyl/Fukushima was safe",

Yes. Producing semiconductors or rare earth magnets is not a very clean process, Silicon Valley has a lot of uglyness left over from such processes. Cheap renewables supplies produced in the far east are certainly not clean in that regard,

Nuclear weapon use in the atmosphere, especially when not near-ground, is orders of magnitude cleaner than reactor accidents. A few hundred kg vs. tens of tons of isotopes released.

In that interpretation, the authors point is even less valid. In that case he just advocates substituting a dark color by a less dark one, wrecking contrast and thereby acccessability.

This might all be true for paintings, but on a screen, #000 isn't black. It is usually a dark gray, depending on the backlight and contrast of your screen. And even with OLEDs, it might be darker, but it isn't really black. So imh

You can also get a trajectory with a stack of CCDs where the trajectory is not in the plane of the CCD. Actually the stack may be very high with quite some distance between individual CCDs, because you need trajectory in and out of detector

Most nuclear plants in Europe can do 5% per minute changes. That is not as quick as for gas turbines, but also not really slow. Load following is just not used very often, because you usually regulate down your most expensive power source (

Most of EIDAS is quite fine, but there are really stupid ideas in there. Remote signatures are signatures where the key user is not the key owner. The key is located with some service provider who signs with the user's key on request.

Feature parity is impossible. Webextensions are intended to take away possibilities like altering the UI or calling out to external programs. So webextensions will never ever be on feature parity with XUL addons. Also, changes to webextensi
