I remember a definite pre-millennial spike in such jokes so I went looking. Never heard it before (it's on youtube so I have now), but track 2 of this album from 1984 might win the prize: http://www.discogs.com/Daniel-A

That small slip annoyed me too. Long s does not appear at the end of words or in capital letters (at least not that I can currently recall), which is why it would not appear in the title (the capital letter of "School" or the word

Congratulations. Looking forward to the blog posts too. What was the learning curve like starting work on a game with your respective backgrounds? Not to add to the learning curve but if you have any plans for an Android version I'd be

"Most hotels offer free WiFi" This may be true in the US but I don't think it's necessarily true in Europe. Too many hotels in the UK/Ireland claim to offer "internet access" which turns out to mean no wif

Less of a problem than described in this article, and now fixed, but rather incongruous nonetheless: a couple of years ago (as far as I could make out) Google maps editing was available in some territories and not in others. Consequently th

Wow. I've been wondering what happened to Jeffrey Lim, and here he is with a blog and everything. By the way, it's exciting that Lim plans to open the original assembler source to IT, but anyone interested in an open source, fully

I very much agree with this. I'm a woman and at age 13 I was, if not actually "hacking", at least teaching myself to code simple games/graphics. However, "delivering solid product" is a very big leap from that.

Granted that applying a layperson's understanding of a DSM category to people I've never met from a completely alien culture is a pointless and possibly crass task, but reading through this I was thinking of avoidant personality d

I absolutely agree with your last paragraph: seek help. However, I find "just because someone says they are depressed doesn't make them so. And that belittles people who really are depressed" a dangerous attitude with regards to that. When

Interesting. And Jevons himself was a pretty interesting guy, from a hacker's point of view: he built the "Logic Piano", a mechanical calculating device for Boolean logic statements, which effectively generated truth tables: http://www.rut

I was amazed when I went to Germany and saw working, clean ticket machines at every tram and bus stop. I'm from the UK and there is no way they would've gone a month here without being smashed or crudely tagged. Anyway, interesting technolo

OK, this is brilliant. Well done, whoever made it. I wonder if it's intended to be solved by hand or by scripting. I'm having fun doing the former, but making very slow progress, I have to admit...
