As 1ba9115454 says, most of these ICOs are for tokens. Like the dotcom bubble of 1999/2000, the majority are garbage or pie in the sky but some are interesting and backed by decent teams. A few that are at least plausible (in no parti

AFAIK Uber are subsidizing users and drivers, so both? Although I think the users are getting the better end of the deal.

Billions of VC investment money. Actually, I don't agree with the GP. In my view Uber represents one of the biggest transfers of wealth from VCs to the common man in the last three decades. When the funding eventually dries up and Uber

I don't think you could be more wrong. Quote from the Mayor: “I want companies that abide by the rules, I want companies that innovate, harbour new technologies, I want disruptive technology coming to London but you’ve got to play by t

Read the article. It's not about the quantity of assaults, it's about Uber not reporting them to the police.

I see your point but I assume the producers of the hack own the rights and IP to their work i.e. there's nothing stopping them releasing what they did as open source and building a community around it (at least that's been the cas

I and a lot of my friends use Revolut and it's excellent. They're a very well funded FinTech startup and have been around for a few years.

Really agree with this. Not everything is about money, if it was we wouldn't have squid, postfix, apache, nodejs, python and the millions of other open source software that I and everyone else here relies on daily. Ask the maintainer o

Great hack. Really enjoyed reading this! Noob question: the weld as shown in the AR video looks really detailed (fissures, deformations etc). Was that rendered by you using the heightmap data alone or did you have access to top and bottom i

Maybe it's familiarity but having just tried this (and Iosevka recommended elsewhere in the thread), I much prefer Consolas. Find it a lot easier on my eyes (this is with the Monokai-Cobalt theme on VSCode).

Honestly, I'd only go to the effort of mimicking Letsencrypt internally if you are already using their service for prod and wanted to keep your dev environment very close to this. Here's a gist you can follow if you'd like to
