I wanted it and couldn't find one. My parents wanted one, too, and they are not into technology like I am.

That's why I said that it can do it, not that it does do it. The point is that the "just don't connect it to the internet" response is neither sufficient nor correct.

If a TV has built-in wi-fi, it can scan for open networks and connect automatically as a failsafe. It doesn't have to tell you that it's doing it, either.

I've ordered from JLBPCB before (designed an under-cabinet lighting system for my kitchen complete with PIR sensors and professional-looking installation... it was my first arduino project!) but I'm not too full of myself to admit

You are correct. I need submixes for each channel. And, I mis-counted my inputs, and will nix an output, but that still leaves me with a 16x16 mess. I've spent the weekend looking into this. I would love to build my own, but I'

Thank you for the reply! I'll look into the MOTU devices... I had not heard of them before! I was hoping to keep the cost at sub-$1k (although that is by no means a hard limit), but you are correct in that I already have the speakers

My problem is that I know enough to be dangerous, and not enough to do much practically. I keep fantasizing about going back and getting an EE degree or something, but after 15 years of taking university classes, I don't want to start

Very cool! I grew up and lived in the middle of nowhere, Texas, and didn't even know that there were other people in the world that loved tech and actually got to be "in the trenches" with it! I'm jealous! lol

The rules are designed so that there will be absolutely no encumberance to them using your submission in any way that they want (if you win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place). From limiting datasets to stipulating the license to a requirement of pate

You are correct, and that was actually my first thought. If you win (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place), they have rights to your game and the right to make their own derivative works. And you have rights to make derivative works. But then I though

I would expect it from a private corporation. I would not expect it from a government agency. Usually, a government agency is more interested in getting people to create things. The motivation is that by offering a prize, they encourage p

I thought that this was a great idea, until I read a few of the rules: In short, you work for them, for free. You don't win unless you check all of the beaurocratic checkboxes. If you make something good, you might win $20k, $10k, or
