Your ability to find tapes, discs, or things to plugin to it (assuming it even supports that) are disappearing with increasing speed.

I am an expensive consultant. My advice is skip HTTP/2. Either wait for HTTP/3 to ditch TCP or start inlining resources into single HTML documents to reduce round trips.

Yep yep yep. Amazing how we keep reinventing the same thing over and over and over again.

Depends on how big your team is. If it's just you and you feel like you dont need one then dont. If its 3 teams of 10 then an API is extremely helpful. It's a great way to frame conversations in something beyond personal preferenc

Please use the right words so that no one misunderstands the truth or thinks that you are lying. What the USA is doing is in no way isolationist. That is something completely different with no parallels or relations in any way. Using the wo

I second this. I have used PowerPoint for some very complex architectural diagrams and transitions over time and it has been a great tool. Definitely not perfect, but is pretty fun to use most of the time.

The biggest issue with CQRS I've seen is people thinking CQRS means you need multiple, duplicate data structures, mappers, a few Kafka topics and a PhD, when IN REALITY all it means is you put methods that return data without modifying

Actually OP is more right than even he knows, because the small towns themselves should never have been built but for massive federal government land subsidies for railroads in the 19th century - huge sections of which were never sustainabl

This article is a perfect example of why the climate change issue is so polarized - it's just so full of propaganda and lies that the important truth it talks about is glossed over with mistrust. "Reduced to a string of stagnant m

Like all service providers in every industry, you can probably get an SLA from them if you really want one. Otherwise you're stuck with Best Effort service. If that doesnt meet your expectations, you're free to shop around and pay

Funny, in my state I actually get junk mail and door to door solicitors about switching energy suppliers. They even tout their renewable percentages in their marketing. Markets work if you let them.

Good managers are good leaders, which means they sometimes need to teach. There's nothing wrong with an engineering manager teaching someone about the proper type for a database column as an exercise in actual leadership and mentorship

Keep in mind selection bias. The only preppers you know are the ones who let you know they are preppers. Many mormons are "preppers" in that their religion urges them to stockpile up to a year of food.

You're not doing anything with it then. JPA is a relic that slows down productivity. Give me JDBI any day and I can get things done 10x faster.

This is going to be state specific. Generally courthouses are built by county boards, paid for with county bonds, and under the control and management of the local county sherriff. Counties are creatures of the state, but that doesnt mean a

Interesting idea. It would also need to be the case that the content has no moved either so a 302 is not appropriate. I don't necessarily agree that you should be certain not to reuse the URI. Why do you think that should be the case?
