In a few years this might be expected behavior. Like Facebook with updating nearly all content in realtime, many enhancements to user experience demand more network activity. In this case, it would be intelligent prefetching.

I've only seen this feature used when hosts are being upgraded at the hypervisor or physical level. In my experience, it has been more of a "keep the whole system stable and running during upgrades" rather than a daily optimi

Software rendering can be good for making references to compare to--at least for driver implementors. Plus, there's always the people who like the challenge of creating something with mesa in dosbox for the fun of it.

I did not know much about Yammer before this. As I looked it up, Microsoft is a parent company, so it makes sense that Yammer comes with Office 365 integration. Reminds me a lot of the (buggy, modular, quirky) PHPFox (recently changed owner

A nice landing presentation, but I feel like they are too scared to show a code snippet so they hide it behind a button and a modal overlay.

I've always wondered if something like this could make and join a mesh network, so communications could be over relatively longer distances.

I'm interested in what those edge cases are, to say it works in 99% of the cases but provide no caveats makes me think that I might be surprised by something if I use it.

This experience reminds me of when I looked up my credit report the first time. You know, that 'free' deal to see the score and all. Turns out I was unwittingly put into a monthly plan, after an undisclosed-as-trial period with no

And sometimes with managed or self hosted email services on custom domain names, it takes a ridiculously long time. I think my attention time out for this would be 30-45 seconds.

I once put `shutdown -h now` (halt) instead of `shutdown -r now` (reboot) Once I realized what had happened on the production server I ended up calling OVH (and they were helpful but not immediately acting). It's not a good feeling.

Recently read SOA Patterns. It seems like my pattern is to read for about 30-40 minute segments and then nap. Usually I only do 2, 3, or if I'm lucky, 4 segments in a day. Plane rides generally go without the napping. I do not know how

Just a thought, why not have fingerprints be like a Merkle tree? A (naive) example: a built package has the hash derived from the package identity and all dependency hashes at compile / link time.
