Just a big caveat for slide #36: > SVG text is fully accessible, searchable, selectable and 100% semantic. Only if you don't convert the text to paths, which is really really common in the wild because someone wants a specific font

By your logic, the states that have legalized recreational marijuana should all be failing right now. Oh and if you were specifically talking about all drugs, Portugal decriminalized possession in 2001 and it was a staggering success. ( htt

Eh, that's just your assumption. It's a guy in a fine neighborhood going to the store after dinner. For all we know the store is (excuse the pun) deserted at that point.

I really don't like the whole AJAX thing they did after they went down. Now if I visit in a text-only browser (w3m), I just see "[sping]" (the alt text on their spinner). Kind of sad for a static website, especially a wiki.

If I remember correctly, doesn't Apple's Siri get trained to your voice so other people don't activate it? It only seems appropriate for Amazon to make sure only specific voices are associated with purchasing rights or else k

My guess would be because of semantics. The plain version is the character itself used in text. The squared version is a specific symbol used in television for "designated hitter". It's the same reason that there are unicode

This is a ridiculous statement. You are not entitled to free speech on a private website. Downvoting is not censorship; not every comment is privileged to be at the top or completely visible. I agree that flagging is abused at times, but it
