If anyone is wondering what the project is about, it is a framework for writing simulations in Python. It could take any kind of simulation: Physics, game theory, epidemic spread, electronics, whatever. (Yes, I know of SimPy, it's something

Amazing. I never knew one could measure the gravitational force between two non-astronomically sized objects. This is really really amazing. I can't believe I never heard about it before.

Not coding, but editing video. It was for a start-up I founded, and it happened 2.5 years ago. I just moved into a new apartment and had little besides my Pentium III computer and an approaching deadline. It had a bad-quality 14-inch CRT sc

I found this very interesting. The thing that I can't stop thinking about is: Where is the line between prostitution and a relationship? I'm not talking about the legal sense; I don't find that interesting at all. I'm talking about the mora

"It's nice to see more programs like these starting up, even if they do feel a little derivative of YC." I don't understand - Are you disappointed that these programs try to emulate YC?

I don't understand: How can one battery per server be more efficient than a big, shared battery for all of them?

Why does HN need its moderators to decide what's lame and what's not? I agree that HN needs moderators, and that they should be able to kill submissions, comments and/or users. But I understood that it's intended mostly for spam, or flame w

If there wasn't a need to explain that it should be flagged, why was there a need to say at all that it should be flagged? If people are smart enough to understand the reason the submission should be flagged, aren't they smart enough to und

No, I don't want HN to turn into Reddit. Who are you calling "the mob" here? The readers of HN who vote by their own opinion? I agree that comments in the spirit of: "This submission should be downvoted because x, y, z" are valuable and hel

Since when do HN members need someone to tell them to upvote or downvote a story? In my opinion this is just herd mentality. If the people like it, they'll upvote it. If they don't, they'll downvote it. No need for anyone to direct them one

I think it's a very interesting question. I would say three to five years. In my opinion, technological tools are overrated. Most things can be built by hand using common materials. Actually, it would be a very cool project! Take a bunch of

What you say is interesting, but it would also be interesting if you'd actually answer the question, i.e., give a guess in years.

I didn't suggest debt financing for a start-up. I suggest debt for funding the entrepreneur's living expenses. I agree that if the entrepreneur actually starts a start-up proper, he would do best by financing it using equity. But most entr

For a start-up proper, yes. But most of my projects are not really start-ups which I can sell equity from. Imagine you decide to study some cool new technology. You are making a bet: Learning this technology now might get you a great reward
