One way to see the renaming is that it's not for outsiders, it's for those that work there. There's nothing that could do the job of informing everyone in your company what the new direction is more effective thank this.

That's an odd definition of patent troll. In my understanding, patent trolls don't actually produce any products.

I think the emulating/use native problem for the keyboard is a really tricky design problem to solve. Currently the 'Apple recommended' way is to use an inputAccessoryView which is essentially a bar above the native keyboard.

Yes yes, software patents are ridiculous. But they are a part of the current legal and business system and until that changes (and it should), Apple or anyone else would be idiotic not to play the game as it exists. For those complaining th

The only stated way they're going to 'revolutionise' calendar storage is by adding rich media? You can hack on EventKit for that - just used the notes or URL properties on EKCalendarItem. Sorry, they're not getting my cr

Are you talking about first party connectors? We have projects in rural primary schools in Malawi and are yet to have single cable failure with our dozens of lightning iPads there.

Ugh no thanks. Lightning is orders of magnitude superior to other current solutions (except cost). If it came to the point where this was actually enforced, I bet Apple would just pay the fines it receives and just continues to use Lightnin

Hi Pierre, competitor here :) As to your query about Perhaps a good alternative is to create two apps: one free with IAP and one paid (but I don't know if Apple is still OK with this). We do this with our primary education maths apps
