Add an hour commute to the airport, another hour at check-in and security and 10x the emissions: it's actually a fun experience going by night train, especially when traveling with kids.

I've just removed sprockets from my Rails app and replaced it with propshaft, jsbundling-rails and cssbundling-rails. It took a couple minutes max. Now the "frontend" parts are no longer tied to the rails app, except you get

The cool thing is you can also create .kube file which points to a kubernetes pod definition yaml. This also generates a service definition which takes care of running a full pod with all your containers.

I was just cursing a lot setting up a single node with my default stack. I’m going to try this tomorrow, because containers are so useful, but I just don’t want to deal with K8s on anything that I run myself.

I guess in "Make it as simple as possible, but not simpler", scp is too simple for you? But you also mentioned five different beasts to master, so I'm not so sure ;)

How do people automate this kind of thing, like rolling out a specific image via CI? Generating the systemd files, copying via scp and systemd reload via scripted ssh?

You can also re-sell a product you've bought there with a click and answering a couple questions, right from your order history. It's a pretty nice experience, just recently did so with a Dell screen I no longer needed.
