Yup, everything's already there, just a bit disguised: * Feed before original site? No problem, set Feed as the default in Preferences. Also, if you like one view or another, it saves per-site. * To read all stories in a folder, just click

I'm a hacker, what can I say? The design I think makes a lot of intuitive sense. The visual layout leaves a little something to be desired. But then again, that's how you know NewsBlur is legit and not some fly-by-night.

I used to use Google Reader, but I found that I missed seeing the original site and that I couldn't easily filter out stories I didn't want to read. So I built NewsBlur -- http://www.newsblur.com . It's open-source and I'd love if more fol

You only see the premium product when you first activate your feeds. Standard users only have 64 feeds, but when you first import your feeds, you're asked whether you want to go premium. I try to stay out of your way as much as possible. No

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. Really, I run on props, and a comment like this is worth at least a month of energy. As for being acquired, I feel like it's this myth that great projects get acquired or sold. But I haven't

Sure, you would need to login for most endpoints, but I have a number of additions that I'm planning: OAuth, HTTP Basic Auth, and JSONP when given a callback parameter. I agree, it'd be useful to use some of this data from JavaScript, but o

HN, it's been six months since I launched NewsBlur ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1834305 ) and I've been working nearly every single day in my free time to bring this API to light. As some of you know, it's entirely open-source on G

This is the sharpest review of Backbone.js I've seen. A number of points raised by the author Kevin gives the feeling that he has a supernatural insight into why tradeoffs were made. Reading this review over, each point seems obvious, but t
