I think there’s a mid ground where industry does nothing except slap a sticker on warning people that game features will sunset in the future, making parts of the game unplayable, perhaps making some commitment like no sooner than December

Stacking it in a single sack is a bit silly though, it would fit in a small duffle bag or backpack.

That’s mental fatigue from learning and being engaged on a topic for a duration. Maybe some additional from screen time/blue light fatigue. But it used to happen after studying for hours pre-internet. Just my hunch, but post student li

The “satisfied” part is the most harmful imo. This is what causes lack of actual social interaction and real friendships. Loneliness is on the rise as friendships are on a decline, this is a byproduct of social media gratification The other

In the US, if they were allowed and priced as low as I hear they can be (without excessive tariff, etc) then I'd expect it would only take 5-10 years. Assuming they are in fact similar on quality/reliability to what we're use

Everything that has increased by more than income growth has gotten less affordable. Thankfully it seems to be happening to all the most expensive things housing, vehicles, education, healthcare, etc (/s incase not obvious)

It's a heavy tax to protect the ignorant. I hear things like this and think how I've been using a computer for nearly 4 decades and it's never once happened to me. Maybe those types of people need to re-evaluate their technol

I have this problem all the time and I can usually run the calcs in a simple multithreaded process pool/queues. While each calc may still take 15s, I run a dozen or more at a time. This helps me refresh the cache in a reasonable amount

Generally, I think it's boredom. Specifically, many people haven't learned it is a life skill to deal with boredom, instead they constantly find a way be entertained and a phone always within reach offers a great solution to that

I read the article as if it was written by a smoker, that wanted to quit so badly, he engineered a complex machine that would only dispense him a cigarette on a defined and spaced out schedule. Thereby, not quitting at all.

NYC is an outlier of US cities though. The long narrow island of Manhattan makes everything more efficient in terms of the subway, etc. Most other large US cities sprawl endlessly in all directions.
