If somebody starts going around neighborhood shooting paint balls, requiring everybody to wear "please don't shoot paint balls at me" t-shirts seems like a suboptimal solution. If somebody left a code with some license 10 yea

I use Zim. Not much different from just having a text file. Easy to backup, can grep keywords etc. Lack of sync is a disadvantage so I sometimes use "note to self" on signal when I want to save something from mobile.

Most clients are just marketing. Banks make money with your money. And 99% of stored money comes from 0.1% of their clients. Leverage coming from fractional-reserve [1] is just a part of it but it gives you some idea. If you mean just credi

I'm not sure it's that high. They probably have AML regulations in multiple countries on their backs, and they are dealing with tons of tiny payments not a few big ones. For each tiny payment there's some chance of a problem

It doesn't scale, only a few chosen can do that and I think that's what Wolfram is trying to do here. But when you are using a different framework, learning it and creating a mapping is usually just too expensive for other experts

It means that if you have these names internalized (redorange for example, I'm sorry for not using the proper names), then if you see berries in that color then you recognize them easily - those are the only redorange berries I know. O

Free publicity. I would love to hear some ideas for fixing this or maybe some inside stories but in my mind this kind of behavior has close to zero negative consequences for the company, even if it gets loud.

Protection is at the physical level. I mean, it was for the CDs, but you can easily imagine stuff that you can press onto the disc that your burner can't do. https://youtu.be/XUwSOfQ1D3c?t=481

It won't stop bots. Have you seen phone farms [1]? Attackers are getting clever (and lazy maybe). They use physical devices. Old ones are cheap, can have broken screens etc. And you can't lock out users with old devices. We should

It's unintuitive how slow the sound is, given how much musicians care about latency in their stack. 1 meter adds 3ms (2.85ms to be precise and that's standing dry air)
