What kind of applications do you want to be able to build with such a tool?

How much do you get paid per-hour? Hoe many hours will you spend wrangling you servers? Each month. If heroku doesn't make sense you aren't getting paid enough.

I tend to agree with you, but don't just take it from me: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/rest-discuss/message/6735 I don't think it's fair to say the original dissertation is the final word on REST, but I do think almost all of the di

I've about had it reading discussion after discussion on the topic of REST between people who haven't read the damned paper. Here is my takeaway: There isn't much to do with URLs in here. One URL, One resource (collection counts as a resour

I'll let you know when I'm done. So far, as a high school drop-out I've figured out how to code, and I can say the years I have had in the field have given me a competitive edge on my peers. ( in terms of qualifications and hourly rate ) Bu

One needs not inherit wealth through death to carry it on. That's what living is for. The privileges afforded from wealth certainly give you a leg up. Take it, or get out of the way.

The point of rails is that when there is something "you could always do" you find a way never to do it.

I think it's pretty awesome that you can fire up less than a movie ticket worth of computer via credit card and process something you'd never have a ghost of a chance to do on your desktop in a reasonable amount of time. And then do it agai

Maybe you could use the wiimote in combination with the physical tracking to get more precise telemetry + precise physical location and AR.

I think things like this are what Steve was talking about when he spoke of strategic opportunities coming up in the near future. Entire categories of business are about to be disrupted by the mobile revolution. Heck, just a few years ago a

I suppose my point is that, even with the new hosted suff, chef doesn't have the a polished "wow, I feel like I didn't do anything" feel yet. If you can capture that you win in my book. If I run chef, or apt-get, or you-name-it through Stac

Do you have a specific example of something you feel Rails doesn't do? Maybe that way somebody can tell you where in the rails ecosystem that falls.

Not really, in Rails, you might have this controller code: @things = Thing.where(:it => "good") And this view code: <% for thing in @things %> <%= thing.name %> <% end %> But the SQL query doesn't fire in the con

I'm solidly anti-text. And as a hobby work on non-text programming tools. It's entirely unproven. But I hope one day I can say it's a better way to do things.
