NIMBY nonsense is nothing new to Toronto city council. And dumb articles like this are nothing new to the CBC, either.

Just one of thousands that do this kind of thing, sadly.

I look at things like Dynamics 365 and other no-code/low-code "solutions" and I fear that we're just about at that point.

I'm usually the first person to complain about political correctness. I've just always considered humanity to be at the genus level, not the species level.

When I pin a browser to the left or right side of one of my monitors, these sites will often go into mobile mode despite the fact that the browser is still wide enough that desktop mode works fine, merely because the window is now taller th

Any entity of genus Homo is (or was) human. Just not necessarily culturally or physiologically modern.

Yeah. Essentially, YouTube is all but a natural monopoly given today's legal and technical environment. Unfortunately, it doesn't get the oversight that natural monopolies are supposed to have to prevent abuses like these.

>Humans will be around until the next comet strike Not necessarily. For all we know, we might evolve into a different species over the next million years. Either way, though, extinction is just part of the natural process for any species

I wouldn't call CP/M and DR-DOS "clones" of MS-DOS. It's more the other way around: MS-DOS originated as a x86 clone of CP/M!

PC/GEOS took the Motif appearance, but I'm pretty certain that it didn't include the actual Motif toolkit. The source was essentially all hand-tuned x86 assembly. It would have been impossible to simply repackage anything fro

Disk accesses were faster with 1571 drives than 1541s, for sure, and having a supported RAM expansion could cut down on the number of accesses needed to do anything. Similarly, GEOS 128 got away with fewer accesses as it could make use of t

It was really amazing what could be done with PC/GEOS in all its incarnations on even the lowest-powered of hardware. It's to be expected, though, considering what Berkeley Softworks could pull out of a C64 with classic GEOS!

How does this compare to Calibre? I very much appreciate Calibre's extensibility of metadata and make use of it in my own digital library collection, and despite being (seen as) a desktop app, has a nice and well-working server mode wh

Masto.host is run by one of those people who put inflexible ideology ahead of the wants and needs of their users. That is ever a concern when having a third party set up and manage everything for you.
