That's why the epoch was arbitrarily set at 10,000 years before the BC/AD epoch. A rough approximation that lines up with the current calendar works a lot better for everyone than a more accurate approximation.

I wish they would have gone with Holocene Era epoch for the year instead of using the same BC/AD // CE/BCE one we currently use padded to five digits. Makes a lot more sense to me if we think of this year as 12017 than a

It's not the same at all. `&&` only continues the chain if the previous command exited successfully (i.e. exit code is 0) whereas `;` always continues.

The value of the token comes from the value and purpose of the protocol the token is used for. For example, Etherium's value itself is backed by the ability to run "smart contracts" on the Etherium platform itself. Most of th

Obvious bias shown by the article's author, but yeah the basic premise that social media is destroying meaningful discourse and the democracy that depends on same rings very much true.

If you're still using Windows PowerShell proper instead of PowerShell Core, you still need to delete the curl alias or call curl explicitly as curl.exe in order to use it. Also, take a look at Chocolatey for package management. Yeah it

Yeah, that's a shortcoming with cmd.exe. At least PowerShell will switch slashes to whichever is default for the platform, but I doubt that supporting fore-slash tab completion in cmd.exe would be able to crawl out of the -100pt hole.

Windows Console has improved a lot since Creators Update, adding built-in support for many VT escapes (including all the common ones) and even 24-bit color in the console. They're doing their best to make it first class for developers.
