That sounds like distributed hardware, not software. And I get the feeling that it's probably been done somewhere before, even if we've never heard of it. Definitely would be neat to figure out such a system! Certainly the network

Well, except for the fact that it's Common Lisp. ;)

"Documentation" and "writing on the web" _do_ intersect, but neither is a subset of the other. A technical manual is documentation but I'd rather die than write one in Markdown, especially when there are much better

I don't mind giving up Markdown for writing docs, but only if we all agree to use Org-mode text instead.

The Law of Limits would probably be better. X's Law only really works well as a name if X is itself a name. Law of X is better when X is a topic.

If using an ATMEGA is considered "cheating" as some in this thread have said, then using a RaspPi as the video chip is most definitely so.

Rather than another CPU, it would be a AV interface chip wouldn't it?

At least in the USA there are options for alternative schooling and homeschooling, which allow exceptions to compulsory public school attendance. Look to Europe though and you'll find places where it's absolutely illegal to do any

Burakumin. The Japanese government has been trying to end discrimination against them since the early Meiji era and yet it still persists to this day nearly 150 years later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burakumin

It does. Microsoft ended up locking the issue tracker in Github because people created this and many other issues after Microsoft kowtowed and removed the Santa hat.

I don't really mind the UI itself, but the experience from how everything's jumbled around (especially the toolbar from hell) certainly does detract from it's mid-90s charm.

Of course. So you still have to destructively edit your books before you can tell Calibre to stop destructively editing your books. Genius!

Counterpoint: Visual Studio Code is great software from Microsoft that was built on Electron. However, it's the ONLY app I've ever seen built on Electron that isn't a slow and voracious consumer of all resources on a system.

Turkey wouldn't allow it even if the money showed up. This dam is all about control of the Tigris, and flooding the city is a bonus strike against the Kurds as far as Ankara is concerned.

You can still buy Amiga platform hardware, although it's not the classic Commodore-era stuff but rather the modern PowerPC based stuff.

Considering how many different types of data have and can be stored in IFF chunks (and their order-swapped RIFF counterparts) I'm almost insulted by the PEP author considering IFF to just be "an old audio file format". I thin

That Amiga never achieved any success outside of niche SFX markets is a sure sign we're not living in the best of all possible worlds. (Although that's more 80s than 90s.)
