I love it too but I'll push a little on "sanest out-of-box" web framework. template/view rendering is a bit more complex than it needs to be. totally understand that it's a side effect of pattern matching but I'

in the business world this simply isn't true. you don't assume that company will succeed because you give them money or mentorship, you assume that primarily good businesses will take money and mentorship and translate those thing

very interesting that a few schools (Babson, Harvard, Rensselaer) score highly in both models.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm sure there are some great points in this post but I can't get over the obviously biased perspective (and borderline ad hominem attacks on FB).

I mean, if you're building an app for Twitter scale on day one you're already doing something wrong. But yeah.

Better for building out services. Parallel processing. The supervised process abstractions are incredibly powerful. If you're building another Twitter I would still use Rails. You'll be much more productive. On the other hand, if

Though not the end of G+, hopefully it will be the end of G+ as we know it. From day one G+ should have simply been a social mesh between the many (very) popular Google properties like YouTube, Play, Maps, etc. Making it a standalone applic

You realize that this one example actually proves the rule, no? In order for the math to work out in this instance you need a large, tech-focused community that might one day turn into a workforce of engineers that might then bring thei

Ev as CEO would be a better call than Jack, IMO. Ev's passion is still in a related space where as I don't think Jack's heart is as connected to the Twitter product as it is to Square these days. Really though, I'd take

The real question, given your reaction, is why you'd want to build software for a closed platform?

I like Ruby/Rails, I like Go. I like frameworks that make your life easier when starting a new project. I don't think Go is anywhere near the list of languages to build a Rails successor on top of. Rails can do so much of the cool

So many cycling brands use .cc domains, not sure who started it. Also the main competitor for this sort of style is probably more along the lines of Castelli/Gore than Rapha. I dig the idea, but the aesthetic types are going to stick w

Releasing libraries tied to IDEs sound like an absolute nightmare to have to maintain over time. Package managers exist for exactly this reason - I have no idea how anyone at Twitter could have ever thought this was a good idea.
