Shouldn't they mention their compensation strategy when discussing what they do to make everyone happy and productive?

I don't get Co2Stats. It's a very cool idea, with a caveat. If I were to have an online business, I would gladly pay for clean energy (perhaps even at a small premium) rather than buy energy from an old-style fossil fuel burning energy comp

You can convert this to a domain, but I'm still not sure how to say Julie likes everyone who likes girls. Using dependent data definitions in SQL gets very tricky very quickly. You can do it in a view, but a view is not designed to represen

Not to mention that CL reader can be configured to have any kind of case behavior you want, and turning symbols to upper case just happens to be the default.

It is not a disguise, I couldn't be more direct about it. My goal was to introduce people to an excellent (yet little known these days) author who did a very good job explaining these concepts and helping people free themselves from the bon

Right. Being able to see these assumptions is arguably an incredibly useful skill. More traditional intelligence coupled with ability to see such assumptions should get you much further than traditional intelligence alone.

The concept of "fair" doesn't really apply here. YC can use any [legal] criteria they wish. We're just interested in learning what we could do to improve the application, so we're asking for a little more information, if possible. It's not

Sure, but that only gives you information about the people and ideas you're competing with. It doesn't give you information on how to present yourself on the application, which really is the bottleneck when conveying information to YC.

Would it be possible to see an example of a stellar application? You'd only have to put it up once, and it would help all of us understand what we're up against.

CSS is very difficult to replace with an abstraction because it's too quirky. Compiling a high level language down to CSS without human intelligence is so difficult, it's completely impractical. HTML, on the other hand, is easy to abstract.

You can already single-step and highlight the piece of code you're stepping (assuming you use Slime/sldb). You just need to proclaim a debug level 3 before compiling your software. http://www.sbcl.org/manual/Debugger-Policy-Control.html#De

|Also, how mature/complete is Weblocks? Now that control flow is in, I have to implement two more things to consider Weblocks "ready" - more flexible UI presentation, and a default data store. The first issue is that current default UI gene

Zak, why does it matter to you if someone is using Scheme in the real world? The question you should be asking is if you can use it to your advantage to outperform others who aren't using it. So far, the biggest issue with Common Lisp I ran

Something about the design of the front page makes it look like one of the linkjack/adsense pages. This is a first glance kind of thing, but it's important as it can turn off a huge percentage of visitors. Also, the footer on the front page

Well, I wrote Weblocks. It's already very nice (using Lisp turned out to be really great) but some fairly commonly requested features are not yet in. Give it a try, send some questions to the support group, and see if it's right for you.
