It didn’t lie, it got it wrong. That’s a very big difference.

That’s actually a good hypothesis. But apparently the count is sometimes off by more than one. My take: poor ChatGPT has no fingers, so counting is hard!

Good point. It always reminds me of the “crypto nerd” xkcd. https://xkcd.com/538/

Wouldn’t call it hoarding though. It’s more like leaving mountains of documents and papers on your desk.

I have colleagues who never do calls, no problem. I prefer by video calls (except when I have to use Teams) over voice or text. But if others don’t, that’s okay too. No need to lie about “being busy”, just that you can explain or understand

It’s “rude” to say you’re busy? I too prefer calls (not with Teams though), just because you can look at code together and also have some interaction with remote colleagues. But if the other person has no time, no problem. Why would that be

Interesting. That seem surprisingly far removed from physical reality. When a lion attacks a gazelle, is it the gazelle’s lion-hating ideology that makes it run away? Or is there in fact real-world danger? Absent of ideology.

It was a direct quote from Roth’s dissertation, including context. Nobody “had to flee”. Old Twitter had countless tweets containing images of violence against children. Under Musk it took only days to remove all of that.

And another one about the cave dude. Please see my other reply for that case. Regarding the Twitter guy: Yoel Roth was a different person. What was bad about how he treated Roth and the Twitter Android guy (I guess that’s who you actually w

You mean where he worked with the Thai government on a rescue plan, got attacked verbally by that dude, attacked back, and then the dude couldn’t take it? Yes, I remember that he apologized a day later, even though the other one started it.

There is no “true” output. It all depends on the input. But what seems dangerous is to let ideology influence the output. Not sure how bad it currently is at Open AI. I’ve never been able to get an obviously ideological answer from ChatGPT.

Tesla isn’t just about cars, it’s about making renewable energy useful. Boring had little to do with Musk. It was an idea that seemed promising, and a Tesla manager volunteered to make it reality. Musk just provided some initial finding. It

Gates is buying a good name. He’s not really doing any good imo. Hop on a plane and look at what the foundation is actually doing in places where they are doing it. I have never seen anything useful. But it “sounds” really awesome to people

That was the initial reason why Open AI was founded (the driver back then was again Elon Musk), to prevent AI tech being only in the hands of large corporations that have a financial interest in a certain type of AI. Unfortunately, Musk lef

New Twitter will soon get long-form Tweets to address that problem. Amazing how in 15 years they never managed to fix this UX issue, despite have ten times more people than they actually needed.
