I read an article somewhere, maybe the New Yorker, maybe the NY Times (a new found goat obsession?) which talked about some, I guess herders upstate who take in goats and then rent them out all around the North East to eat grasses. Seemed l

I very much think socioeconomic status is more likely a better fit. I have a feeling if you did the same test but instead of “crime” you did “wealth percentile” you’d probably end up with the same results in the United States though unfortu

This will probably get swallowed by the other 190 comments but are there good sources for how to make meat substitutes? I love to cook, and I frequently grind my own meat for burgers and sausages. I make my own jerkies too. I try to buy gra

I just use ViM and it’s fine for me. I’ve got autocomplete, syntax highlighting, and ripgrep for file searching. I think I can jump from a function to it’s definition but I’d have to double check. With Tmux I just keep another window open w

If you haven’t made the 10k dollars with the video you may not have it to donate. In the end a person in need ended up with a hundred extra bucks, I’m hard pressed to think of negatively really. Ideally we’d root out the societal issues whi

I think the majority tend to be lurkers for the most part. I believe the Pareto principle (80% of effects come from 20% of causes) maps pretty well to internet cultures based on statistics curated from some of the forums and aggregators aro

Such a shame to insult Americans lack of historical context while also seeming to insinuate the world was some sort of idyllic utopia prior to American engagement. How about we don’t forget that the entire world has pretty much been a gigan

Jeez, I understand the business logic but that’s pretty brutal. Ideally instead of perpetuating and banking on women and minorities being paid less, you could, I dunno, pay them a fair wage for their labor.
