   Peaches 'n' Stink [1] uses ltree for nested comments. All the PostgreSQL is here [2]. The first query that uses ltree is on line 452 [3]. It was hard to decide on the ltree "path" format. There's a "path"

   I built this Internet forum that is similar in structure to Reddit and HN. For the moderation system, each user uses their own user whitelist. I thought it was an interesting idea because I don't know of any forums that use whitelists

    I have not worked with it recently. I recall needing to rewrite a URL and it not being possible with .htaccess - which would have taken a couple minutes. Instead I had to learn the WordPress URL rewrite system.

    I hate WordPress because it has bad DX. But why would I hate CL, it's a simple, useful site with minimal JS.

    Agreed. I often only want to read root level comments. There should be an option to only show root comments; I have been thinking about adding this feature to my reddit/hn clone.

    None as well. I like the browser js APIs and it's nice to avoid the front-end framework complexity.

    Most languages have great DX. It seems like the majority of PHP frameworks have very bad DX. I would consider using Laravel or Symfony.
