Yeah, what moultano said. Except for one derivation in the more rural parts, my state has the accent that most American newscasters will learn or imitate. So for better or worse, I have neutral American English. Pretty good being on top.

I wouldn't really let Rails slide here or call them an exemplar in the subject at hand. They were lazy and paid dearly for it. A better example would be Django, most server-side Java frameworks, Ruby frameworks like Sinatra and Padrino, mos

Dysfunction! The prefix comes from dys- which is the Greek for adding a "bad" sense to the word. Dis- is from the Latin for "apart, between". You like this? On-demand editing services: chris@edithero.com Clickable: http://www.edithero.com/

A magnate is a person that can afford to buy a GREAT house with 3 bathrooms whereas a magnet attracts ferromagnetic elements (iron, nickel, cobalt, some rare earth metals). Magnate is from the Latin magnas for 'great man'. Magnate goes all

Node.js didn't bring anything new to the table. We've had event loops and non-blocking code for almost half a century. Don't lump JS into this.

It's still bad and cabal is still bad. I was in #haskell on IRC not too long ago and they couldn't even figure out why a haskell-platform install couldn't upgrade its own cabal with no other packages installed. Your propagandizing is either

The inability to distinguish static/dynamic strong/weak isn't a minor mistake like fluffing up some grammar, it betrays serious ignorance of the subject material. He's very opinionated and doesn't seem to know the subject material very well

I mostly hack in Python, but jballanc is not exaggerating when he says Leiningen is reason enough to learn Clojure. It makes cabal and sbt look really bad. I would slaughter a goat for a Leiningen equivalent in Scala or Haskell. Go has a

I use MongoDB, but decided to stick with Python for similar reasons. The callback hell is an atrocity and Clojure pretty neatly demonstrates why it's 100% unnecessary.
