You’ve already been shouted down, but thank you for daring to suggest this. I maintain APIs and proxies for APIs for legacy devices, and will continue to suggest that some kinds of APIs remain appropriate for HTTP access. Never do your ba

If you're in the Microsoft world, try out the LTSC flavors (of Windows and Office). Its basically just that -- security updates and patches, no new features. Since switching, my environments have been much more stable, no Windows Updat

Thank you for making this. I'd been puzzling through how to build something similar. Starred and downloaded, I'll definitely be using!

You are correct, reading the RFC just a little further than my ctrl+f found: > A host identified by an Internet Protocol literal address, version 6 [RFC3513] or later, is distinguished by enclosing the IP literal within square brackets

Got an old Dell running Windows 2000. Its remarkable how responsive the UI is. I open an Explorer window, it paints instantly. The Start Menu pops up completely drawn in a fraction of a second. Windows 11 on a monster machine is sluggish by

This might be sacrilegious, but I've made a bit of a hobby of repairing old Macs. When I really bring one back from the dead, I add my signature to the inside (in pencil, of course)
