So on a local machine, in virtualization, you are running an IDE, SharePoint Server, SQL Server, IIS, TFS. If you aren't running it from a separate SSD drive then the problem has nothing to do with the IDE. You have an IO bottleneck.

Yea, this is complete bollocks. Not a word of it is true. You may have a shitty thing in your corp that forced you to do this, but that has nothing to do with Microsoft.

Actually, it really doesn't. You can prove me wrong by linking to any study where a VR rig has caused any physical change in the human body. Otherwise, you're just spewing FUD.

We're pliable, we'll adapt. VR doesn't physically alter your body, so with repeat usage, we'll adapt. The garbage in processed foods is likely damaging us far far more, as those lab created ingredients actually become a

Funny. But don't use the word technically, because that's factually incorrect. A bug spray need not kill every mosquito in existence to prove that it has 100% fatality rate on mosquitoes.

It's not very common, but it also isn't nearly as rare as you're making it sound. I'll look for the study, but IIRC, if you're over 50, and you vigorously exercise more than 2 hours a week, your chance of a heart a

Living is after all, the number one cause of death with 100% fatality rate. I feel that we're living long enough now. Until we are able to get our resource abuses under control and eliminate poverty the world over, then ~75+/-10

I'm sure you didn't mean it to sound entitled, but it's free music. Disappointed in 128k is fine, as you can't get the sound quality that would meet your requirement to be in your library. But it shouldn't annoy y

I suspect you're being down voted because article is discussing the merits between 3 devices, PC's, tablets, and phones, with the conclusion that phablets are the win in the end (with some fairly feeble 'evidence'). The

This estimate gets easier with a couple decades of experience. Which is why I'm always surprised by the agism vibe that sometimes resonates on HN.

Should be said, black people are lazy, and Asians are good at math! I want you to repeat that statement any time you feel like you have a valid stereotype that must be said. Because it should help to remind you that a stereotype is not a t

This is an absurd, and woefully ignorant comment. A DDOS is one or a few individuals trying to shut down a service by mimicking large volumes of traffic, or sending incomplete packets which 'confuse' a server. Calling your elect

I suspect the patents were proving to be of less value than Google thought. Combine that with Samsung and other big players investigating other OS's for fear of Google pulling a Microsoft with the Surface. Any way I slice it though,

A computer is a tool, like any other. If your career uses that tool, it doesn't mean that you need avoid the tool in your off hours. Especially if it gives you joy. My buddy drives truck, and loves to drive on the weekends. My uncl
