No that's incorrect. I-9 verification is for everyone including citizens. Basically you need to show proof that you are legally allowed to work in the US which also applies to citizens. Source: I am an employer.

Keep everything clean. Have accounting setup correctly with PnL no matter how small. Then calculate Seller's discretionary Earnings (SDE) for 12 months and multiply it by 2x-5x usually to get a price. the multiple depends on tons of fa

Yet you don't really try to understand why Windows keeps winning with general users ? Until we change this attitude that Linux is superior and people don't know any better, windows will continue winning.

I love Linux but let's not kid ourselves. Isn't it a couple of decades now when Linux was supposed to kill Windows and it hasn't ? I say this is more of a wishful thinking.

#1 and #3 are contradicting each other. If deglobalization accelerates, why would hiring be anywhere in the world where labor costs are lower ? Shouldn't it be the opposite ? Also, I disagree with #1 and agree with #3 to some extent. I

Robots have been around in some shape and form for decades. I doubt anythng can replace humans completely. Even if some things can be replaced by bots, they may have issues that would need human intervention anyway. Case in point. Stores wi

What are your requirements to find the remote work. If you can share more, happy to advise since a mid/senior level dev with reasonably popular skill should not have a lot of trouble finding work (in my opinion). So perhaps there is so

For about 18 months, I commuted from Southern NJ to Wall St, NY. My reason was that I was not going to get another job and start my own business anyway so I just stuck with it till then. On a good day, it was 2.5 hours one way door to door

Sell it man. You clearly seemed to have lost focus for your own reasons and I don't even want to judge you but don't leave paying customers without answers. You will find a buyer easily if you say Yes.

I don't use pinboard but I have seen enough posts on HN now complaining about lack of response from Pinboard to paying users. I know it is run by 1 person and he clearly doesn't care. Try and move on if you can.

Possibly. We do have paying customers who are using it so that they have better tracking, notifications and guarantee that the job is running (with metrics etc). But I hear you. For some devs, it may not be critical. I do have plans to allo

You can checkout https://cronhub.io (I run it). Behind the scenes, it wraps a lambda function with EventBridge (so you can set schedule) and adds other goodies like notifications/alert (slack/email etc), metrics, notif

"I don't blame the victims" I don't blame the victims as much as the scammers but I surely do put some blame on people too because Greed and/or desperation drives them to do things which are too good to be true. Mos

This is something I think about a lot with 3 kids. I personally believe that we need a balance between allowing devices/internet (because this is 2022) and restricting few things. For me, social media is an absolute No and I will fight

I know people shit on VSCode but in my humble opinion, VSCode single handedly destroyed Atom. Far superior tool, 100% free and adoption growth was crazy.

There is a reason we complain about front end frameworks. The fatigue is real. The npm and node_modules hell is real. The constant quirks with JS to make it work with our backend is real. I have been programming professionally for 18+ years
