I’ve been using Obsidian lately. I’m curious to know more about what you did to pull up a prompt. That could be a slick change. I also tried to do this for work, not because I was required to but because I was curious, and I also found it e

I use GitHub to host my markdown files. A bit more information is in this article I wrote about it. I actually have 4 or 5 similar articles with various thoughts on this. I'm trying to find a way to make it simpler, maybe even for non-

I think it would be fine. I run a little private analytics service for my own websites. That service isn't as busy but handles ~11k requests per month. It logs to a SQLite database. It does this on a little Raspberry Pi 400 in my home

I tried the SuperHTML on a hand-coded site of mine and it reported only one problem and that problem is incorrect as far as I can tell. It tells me that the `</html>` tag is never opened on an HTML 5 doc with a `<!DOCTYPE html

I want to write a slot machine “game” for a custom slot machine I’ve built using a piece of MDF, a 32” LCD, and a Linux single board computer. I haven’t found much information on how to write a game in this style with existing engines. Any

There’s just something about the paper rolls. I was thinking dot matrix. I suppose either would work. I might buy one and do something like op did.

I’m fascinated with printing calculators. Does anyone know of a printer that will print on calculator paper roles and print A-Z numbers and some symbols, like demonstrated here? Edit: Looks like I just need a receipt printer, which comes in

I just looked at this iPhone alarm clock on Gum Road, which I also read about on HN. The page describing the clock is janky. Slowly scroll down the page (with a track pad) and it will jump up and down erratically as you get past the "A

I wanted to add a progress bar to a markdown file but couldn't get it to work. GitHub strips out much of the HTML you insert, meaning <progress> and <meter> tags won't function. Despite knowing that various solutions a

I think one reason is that a subdomain of github.com (like username.github.com) might be able to read and set cookies that are shared with the main github.com domain. There are ways to control this but using a different domain (github.io is

That reminded me of a couple “hacks” we did back then… 1. Cover the write protect notch on a 5 1/4” floppy with a sticker to enable writing. 2. Melt an extra hole in a 3.5” floppy with a cheap soldering iron to double its capacity to t

You can tap a few buttons and get trouble codes. At least on the 2018 or so Sportsman I had. This feature was described in the manual, if I remember correctly, and all the trouble codes were well documented. It would show things like “P0012

I was wondering. I have a DJI and it is stupid simple to fly. I’ve yet to crash mine but I don’t fly it a ton. I’m certainly not trying to fly it through complex paths like an open doorway and into a house or something.
