You can use the number 0.{concatenation of all 1 bit strings ordered}{concatenation of all 2 bits strings ordered} = 0.0100011011… Now an interesting problem would be to have the most “compact” number, where you can find all the strings of

Personally I see std::move more like removing ownership because it’s not explicit from its call where the ownership is transferred.

Battery life is the best selling point of MacBooks and the reason these are selling like crazy. I’m a full time Linux user and I’m even considering buying a macbook and running a Linux VM full time because of the battery.

I also have one bought used. It’s the only way to have 4k and 200% scaling on Linux without everything being too big or too small. Size and ppi are perfect but sadly other aspects are becoming really dated (bad colors and contrast, high lat

Not true, most tools are deterministic. For instance my programming language LSP just works 100% of the time with no failure. It doesn’t hallucinate any types, methods or variables.

I’m now an iOS user but the problem is actually the same here : apps not respecting communication channels to push ads (mostly to their own app or service). I usually fully block notifications from most apps but for some apps the notificati

Sadly arm strength and endurance is way worse than legs, this should obviously work with pedals like a bicycle. I would even be ready to buy one to replace my daily commute when working from home.

Such sites would be illegal if not sharing the header back from the source website and be banned as much as adult websites incorrectly setting this header. It’s not a real problem.

The award is well deserved, VLC was a godsend a few years ago but I’m not sure what VLC brings to the table nowadays. All other players play videos just fine on Linux now. I guess VLC is only a thing on Windows because the default software

If for instance higher ups from all companies require you to hire only whites with straight blond hair, a certain weight/size and with green eyes, you will quickly need to hire the bottom of the barrel of this group to expand your team

I love Haskell but when writing C++ I always avoid functional style gibberish. I feel like this style of programming only works in languages properly designed for that.

Completely false, buses are way louder than multiple cars. Buses make tons of noise when accelerating and many have obnoxious added sounds at stops for security reasons. As a full cyclist I would gladly prefer no bus and more cars. Moreover

I tried modeling the problem as a mixed-integer linear program (one binary variable for each possible piece position) and CP-SAT solved this one in two minutes.

Gnome is way simpler to use than Windows. If you let grandma or a kid with no prior Desktop experience, I’m pretty sure they will find Gnome more intuitive. The problem is that it is too different for a Windows user, so the switching cost i

The way it works is that if you trust the theorem prover to be bug free, then you only have to verify that the theorem was correctly stated in the program. The proof itself becomes irrelevant and there is no need to verify it.

Criticizing Signal for its crypto payment system is ridiculous. The option is totally optional and completely buried as it is literally the last option when messaging. It’s better to criticize the rule against third-party clients.
