Doesn't surprise me. Proctoring in general is pretty invasive. The last time I did a standardized test (GRE), I was pat down, tattoos photographed, led into a room with camera and a 24/7 human monitor just outside through a window

There's probably more "official" ways, but you're allowed to do whatever you want to get people's attention, within election laws. I met a guy disc golfing once who got like, 10% of the vote for a state district sen

COVID has sent me on quite a life detour re-evaluating my priorities. Tried my hand at some freelance and realized I'm not cut out for the networking aspect, at least where I'm at right now. A good chunk of the past years free tim

You mean the .mp4 in the README? It seems like it's just a plain link inside the README.md that GitHub previews/displays. Didn't know it did that. The link is: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/1072787

Vortioxetine (Trintellix) is expensive as fuck, most insurance plans have it under multiple restrictions (step therapy (ST), prior auth (PA), others). They have a manufacturer discount card to take off $100 max but if your prescription bene

OG Pixel and Nexus 5X IIRC. I'm on a Pixel 3 currently and it's still pretty stable. Wanted to play more with a PinePhone as my next phone though

Tumblr themes used to have a similar static analysis and this was the exact way to get around it (well, `atob()` in that specific case)

And hopefully the blockers will continue to work, as long as your browser vendor, mobile phone vendor, etc, don't change the APIs to prevent or make it infeasible to do it.

This is also the same thinking for why so many random companies have blogs with marginally relevant keyword-specific content written by people with little domain expertise (e.g. contract content writers)

Discord has some really useful but non-search-indexable info in it. Putting communities behind a paywall would make it way tougher to openly access info. Probably make some good money though...

I think the hardest part is the rigour. Math and science build on concepts over time, and mastery is easier with more hands-on experience. Just presenting it to someone in a feed might be waaay too passive for absorption.

Is there a good primer on how exactly to even use a mailing list in an efficient way? I always thought the entry point was through the archives, but I guess that's not correct?

There really isn't a whole lot of agency in house buying or house building though. At least not at a mere mortals price point. Real estate is costly, you have permitting, ordinances at city and county level, building codes... Doing any

There's definitely something to having face-to-face interactions. When I worked IT, I loved coming upon someone's problem, diagnosing and fixing it there, and making their day. I just am not able to do that behind a ticket system.

Interesting, I always liked this approach. Let the tech company do the hard work of making a seamless UX (or one of the great open source alternatives) and then just syncing the subscriber list from them, instead of having to manually plug

I think this is somewhat of a more recent occurance, and possibly only GCP related. I've only had a couple GCP interactions now but all of them have gotten me to stay away from that specific portion of Google.

Part of me wonders what the long term of a transition like this looks like. Would this company be able to keep its data consumption healthy, or would it drive product changes that might harm it's users or lead to dark patterns?
