That really comes down to whether or not Apple uses it themselves. If they port their various iOS apps to this new thing and have them replace their current macOS counterparts, then this thing is safe to use.

Yes. It really cannot be overstated how amazing the Apple operation is - over the course of a year they make, distribute and sell half a million iPhones every day. All while having some of the highest environmental and human standards in th

You also don't have to build crypto from first principles, we have plenty of reusable software components at all layers of computing, that implement strong crypto.

It's also worth noting that iOS defaults to asking for a 6 digit PIN when you set up a new device. You can switch it to 4/0/alphanumeric, but the default is 6.

I'm not sure that Touch ID can come back in its current form. Phil stood on stage and told us Touch ID is 50,000 secure and Face ID is 1,000,000 secure. I think the only way for Touch ID to come back is for it to cover the whole displa

Might be worth remembering that companies like Google have significant links with education systems, so they can address their hiring not just at the "who is applying" stage. Also, regarding "lowering the bar" - remember

Mobile platforms have gotten large enough that market share isn't necessarily a useful metric. There are many hundreds of millions of iOS devices out there. That's a pretty decent market to be addressing. (It also happens to be al

This is the most relevant post in this thread. Holding up an iPad for hours pointing it at a table to play Millenium Falcon animated chess makes very little sense, but it will be incredibly cool when your friends can all sit around the tabl

There's a lower end motherboard in the works, "Tabor" (which will be released as the A1222). It's still a PC form factor, but much smaller (mini ITX afair) so it could potentially be put in an box not unlike the A1200. I

As the huge tree of replies implies, the mistake here is asking for "the" answer. There is no one answer, but wow does everyone think their opinion is the answer :) You can't boil all possible use cases of "transport&quo

it doesn't "just" copy the directory structure over each time, it creates the structure for each backup, any files that are changed get copied in, ones that haven't changed are just hardlinked to the existing copies.

You might want to look out for the Vampire cards ( http://www.apollo-accelerators.com ) - they have one out for the A600, the A500 one is almost ready, and after that comes one for the A1200 :)

+1 came here to talk about Gerrit too. Specifically, I would love to see GitHub extend its searching capabilities, and its code review, to be able to encompass more of a Gerrit style approach. For example, let's say you want to have tw

As no less authority than Brian Kernighan wrote, in 1974, "Everyone knows that debugging is twice as hard as writing a program in the first place. So if you're as clever as you can be when you write it, how will you ever debug it?
