Perhaps because Monzo is still relatively weak for sending/receiving money internationally.

I remember seeing the original iPhone for the first time. I was an ardent Apple hater and asked to play with it for a few minutes so I could uncover all of the dumb things Apple had done. 10 minutes later I needed to own one. My N95 immed

Parallels can already use Hypervisor.framework - it's a per-VM configuration option.

Parallels can use Hypervisor.framework and they didn't axe their entire desktop team a few years ago :)

Perhaps worth noting that Parallels can already use Hypervisor.framework - it's a configuration option per VM (although I don't know if you can have a mixture of the options running at the same time).

It's perhaps worth noting that macOS already has drivers for at least one 10Gb chipset, since 10Gb interfaces are present on the Mac Pro and iMac Pro, and an option on the Mac Mini.

Good job for donating :) Might be worth noting that Karabiner Elements can be sponsored through GitHub - I would very much encourage anyone who finds it as invaluable as I do, to consider giving what they feel it is worth to them! The good

It doesn't even have to be malicious. I was driving through Germany recently and some roadworks on a highway meant we were using temporary contraflow lanes, and even with my big fancy human brain, I was sometimes struggling to decide w

> if you write one, advertise one, you need to care about security The word "need" there is wrong. You could (and perhaps should) take the opinion that one should care about security, but there is no obligation (legal, financ

To be very clear, I fully support vaccination, my kids are vaccinated, as am I. Having said that, when people hear the risk of a bad reaction is 1:40000, I believe that what they think is "my kid's chances of getting this disease

Perhaps it's regulation around whatever technology Motion Sense uses? The keynote suggested it's some kind of radar.

“Meanwhile, our Windows version hasn't needed any work since 2000” I honestly don’t see that as a good thing. What are these people doing if they haven’t touched their code in almost 2 decades?

No country has an absolute, no-holds-barred right to free speech. Every legal jurisdiction has some limits on speech/expression, so arguably a more appropriate question would be "are Britain's limits on speech, reasonable?&qu

Items disappearing takes this scummy business model to a whole new depth of viciousness. A few years ago i wanted to get my young sons a Disney Cars game to play on my iPad. There was a new one available, it was very pretty, but reasonable

Hmm, you're right, I see anandtech data showing the 105W rated 3900x drawing a peak of ~120W. Still much closer to the rated TDP than Intel manages.

A good liquid cooler doesn't really buy you lower temperatures than a good air cooler, it just provides more thermal mass and a larger area for heat exchange to the air, so you can achieve the same sort of temps with less noise.

Intel TDPs are the base clock, not the boost clock. AMDs are the boost clock. A 9900K might specify a 95W TDP, but at 5GHz it will actually use almost 170W. See https://www.anandtech.com/show/13400/intel-9th-gen-co

Going by the roadmaps, that seems to be pretty much exactly their plan. Fabs that were slated for 10nm have been retrofitted for 14nm, or are rolling on to 7nm.

"Have a competent reviewer" - requires humans, humans don't scale, proposed solution is not Googley. (this is sarcasm, but from talking to Googler friends over the years, I doubt it's far from the truth)

Google rarely gives good customer service to any of their customers. Good customer service requires lots of humans, which, in the Google hivemind, "doesn't scale" and is therefore not worth doing.

I'd say that's incomplete logic. Nobody should write exclusively mobile apps. Write your service as a web site, and have native apps for a better and more integrated user experience. I see this as an extension of the way the web

iPhone sales have been over 200 million units per year since 2015 and over 100 million since 2012. I'm not sure that "used to" and "now" and "tiny slice" necessarily match up with what your comment implies

I've argued that that's probably deliberate - everyone buying the new Pro ought to need a lot of something . For some people it'll be CPU, some people GPU, some people RAM, some storage, etc. The base model has a good enou

You're not wrong, but the context here is that iPhone sells over 200 million units a year. The chances of them having any other products which can even come close to matching that, is very very low.

Success is obviously a relative thing. I would suggest that any professional scenario that uses macOS for client-driven computationally intensive tasks (rendering video being the obvious example), the new Pro will be a no-brainer. Huge step

I think a better question would have been "who uses a computer to sync iTunes videos to an iOS device?", but even that falls down when you start factoring in Internet caps and suchlike.
