Reading articles like that make me very happy I'm in the self-hosted Home Assistant ecosystem. I couldn't imagine _someone else_ deciding two things that used to work together no longer do for me.

I have a < 50% delivery rate to my apartment when Amazon delivers it and the past two deliveries to work were "delivery attempted" even though they never tried to deliver it into the office.

I am using iBeacons so that my automation knows what room I am in my apartment. I plan on doing 3d positioning with them eventually.

During my tenure with a hackintosh at home, I never upgraded the OS as it basically meant a reformat. This was around 10.6-10.8 - I don't know if it has got better. Meaning once I installed a flavor of 10.x.y, I would never upgrade to

I wonder what condition this Siri will be in. I feel pretty slighted by Apple in their decision not to include HomeKit in MacOS Siri.

I've been using PiVPN[0], which sets up a VPN server for you, but also wraps a lot of the admin commands (creation and revocation of certs, for instance) in easier-to-remember commands. [0] http://www.pivpn.io/

The grey stars get inserted into smart playlists created to include rated songs. I don't want to hear what apple thinks I'd like. I want to hear what I've rated highly.
