Iced and hot are both common, but putting milk in tea is not common.

I wouldn't call it very strange. No one would judge you for having a cup of tea in the afternoon, and they might even want to join in and have a cup with you. Its just not something that most people would think to do.

What's different about Microsoft Surface that suddenly allows it to create content rather than merely consume it? Wouldn't it make sense to give a content creating device more free space to store content?

"This sort of size is necessary to support a tablet which isn't hopelessly tethered to a PC." Are you implying that iPad is hopelessly tethered to a PC? Have you used an iPad? As of iOS 5, there are very few reasons that one would need to b

More pixels..? Apps that aren't updated are pixel doubled, so images, and in some cases text, are jaggy and blurry until they're updated.

This. Most IRC servers (ircd-seven, InspIRCd, UnrealIRCd, etc.) are rock solid and require very little maintenance if you're not doing more advanced things like linking to other servers, linking to services (ChanServ, NickServ), etc.

Regarding the last point, Colorado has a decent online voter registration system. I don't think it's a "swing states", but the polls seem extremely close at least.

Google has made several apps that duplicate functionality (Gmail, Chrome, etc.) Apple doesn't care.

I agree. I find it tedious to take generated code and try to integrate it into my project (rip out filler text, replace it with database calls, etc.)

The plant was built to withstand quakes. They handle quakes perfectly fine all the time (in Japan and other areas like California). It's the tsunami that caused problems.

I completely agree, I'm getting a little tired of the whining about the 's'-word. For example, on the blog it shows the letter from Square with a paper background. What are we supposed to do instead of something like that? Blocks of solid c

Haha, I knew someone would tell me "but it's easy to set up nginx and PHP!!!" I really don't agree. "php -S localhost:8888" is much, much easier. Let's leave it at that.

Keep in mind that this article has one unnamed source . Don't ready your pitchfork just yet. EDIT: Actually, they don't even have that. It's a report on a report that had an unnamed source. Not exactly a shining example of journalism.

I don't think I'll ever understand why companies expend a ton of energy developing a decent web app, yet neglect to turn on the apple-mobile-web-app-capable meta tag which makes the app run fullscreen when it's saved to the home screen...
