I'm not an objectivist, I just think intelligence has nothing to do with the choosing. Ultimately one decides animals should exist as a delicious, nutritious source of protein, or those who would harm one's family should painfully cease to.

Completely agree. I think the biggest problems facing such a shift though are how to address "rendezvous" of the clients and the same critical-mass adoption that plagues a traditional social networking contender.

I'm a little confused about the license. HyperGraphDB is LGPL, but ships with Berkeley DB. Isn't BDB GPL? Could I distribute a closed-source app with this?

Google likes to ask lots of algorithmic questions in rapid succession. At least they did when I interviewed. Knowing of a solution or library was not good enough (they seem to reinvent their own 'everything' anyway, perhaps for good reason?

Yes, this general "solution template" arises in many different applications, each with their own domain-specific constraints or specialized technology, requiring a customized solution.
