I just don't want garbage file names when sharing a file system between systems that don't agree on the encoding. I was thinking maybe some mount option. I can use ISO-88591 and skip UTF-8. I haven't found a mount option for

Offtopic, but does anyone know of a way to ensure I don't introduce non-ASCII filenames, to ensure broad portability across systems? I've had to resort to disabling UTF-8 on Linux to achieve that.

Is this a known and reported bug? Can I encourage you to report it on the mailing list? The current maintainers are receptive to feedback and relatively quick with patches.

The churn is fairly low in screen and there's nothing wrong with that, just like xterm doesn't see huge changes but periodic releases with whatever changed. Timed releases of screen might be a good idea.

If you want something more modular, you might want to look at dvtwm and abduco. I'm not using them, but others do successfully and it's worth mentioning in this thread.

I use screen because tmux forces me to explicitly define quick bindings for each binding where I don't want to lift my finger before pressing the letter. So, where I can write `C-a c` in screen without taking my finger off the keyboard

Thanks, but unfortunately that's not what I would call consistently serif, more like some letters looking hand-written.

No, I mean zero smearing with/without anti-aliasing and pixel-perfect versions of the font that fit exactly into the raster. This is certainly a subjective matter, so it's moot to discuss why I fall into the crowd that finds pixel

I had the same issue as with any other TTF font that's not DejaVu, meaning foggy rendering.

Will try again, but it didn't look as clean and sharp as Terminus, Fixed or even DejaVu Sans Mono.

I could really use a serif monospace font for coding and terminals. Haven't found a good one yet. EDIT: Bitmap fonts preferred for crystal clear rendering and performance.

The difference lies in directly and voluntarily working for such an org vs doing general work they also happen to have a use for. I get your argument, but it's odd that we make an exception for government orgs while we don't for,

This is a sad and impossible to justify action, but I think we haven't improved yet. Outside of preserving species, animal zoos we have now are, in my view, equally wrong and unjustifiable. The recent death of a kid in a zoo showed how
