I agree, but how do you reach that point? Automating a steady income is a lot of work, and the goal is to just give it away? I don't see that happening anytime soon.

You can tell yourself we fight for honor or pride or all that bullshit, but it's always been about money. The question before going into war has always been: how many lives is it worth? i.e. what's the profit?

Not really. Without such technology, war wouldn't be profitable. Without the profits, there would be no incentive to fight. But as long as we carry the bigger gun, we'll always have an incentive to fight.

I'm not even going to try to defend her actions, but I think you might be underestimating the power of going on and off antidepressants on top of graduate school at Stanford.

That's a trite comparison. Why not include pollution and global warming?

This is something I'm still wrapping my head around because I've read that Bitcoin tumblers are effective. But it's like you said: all transactions are public.

Honest question: do you think Obama is writing the agreement himself, or do you think he lacks political power to stop international corporations from making these deals, or do you think he just doesn't care?

Your comment is a mess. Most of your "criticisms" seem to follow the logic that if you haven't personally seen it before, it doesn't exist.

Reminds me of I Luv Video when I lived in Austin, TX. That place was the ultimate hangout. All movies have little reviews written on the case by the staff. Some movies are organized by director. Free beer on Tuesdays. It mocked every Blockb

Even more distracting than the shadows would be the fixed perspective. Unless you include some form of head tracking, the immersion will never feel real. Unfortunately, it'll limit one person per room. Classic example of head tracking:

Depends on the book. The Kindle isn't great at pictures, graphs, or complex diagrams, and examples with code might lose formatting via smaller dimensions. However, it's still convenient to not have to lug around a giant text book

I thought "chick" was the female version of "dude". I guess it could be "dudette" but that just seems dumb.

I guess I should say that the growth of bars seem to be exceeding the growth of parking lots. Does that mean more people are carpooling or taking cabs? Maybe. But it could also mean Uber has an effect.

It'll mean less bars. More bars have opened than closed since Uber has been around.

I'm kind of surprised that they're getting push-back for Microsoft after the whole NSA thing last year. I know it's unfair to blame the company for any of it, but it's still a US company that has to follow US law.

Seems like a Monte Carlo simulation for adding noise to any Javascript variable. It'd be cool if you could apply filters to the noises.

The key to success is to patent as much technology at the start of an industry revolution and use as many lawyers as possible to sue all competitors out of the field.

You did miss the point. Read the article. It's about how all IP is not the same because they originated from different places and they do different things. For example, software uses patents. That's not just a niche, that's a

You missed the entire point. Software uses patents, so people literally can't imitate others' works like some artists do. And that's the problem with over-generalization: it's a useless abstraction that doesn't gene
